AMC Specifications To Improve Ceiling Flame & Smoke Retardation!

Scope
of
Service:

To acoustically improve the flame and smoke retardation of any type of "soft" acoustical ceiling tile. When applicable, it is applied to T-bars as well as tiles.
Can be applied as a separate service or in conjunction with the cleaning/sanitizing service.
May be applied in any color •  Adds to acoustical abilities of ceiling •  Retains or improves the fire and smoke ratings •  Does not add substantial weight •  Does not seal up fissures •  Does not bond tiles to each other or to T-bars •  Will not cause tiles to warp, buckle or roll.

Resurfacing is accomplished using our patented Product.

Products:

It consists of a tinted silica compound suspended in a water-based carrier. In addition to providing enhanced acoustics, it also acts as a fire retardant.

Procedures:

Cleaning; Masking; Tarping; Application; Clean-up:
  • All T-bars, vents and other non-porous items in the ceiling will be cleaned in detail.
  • Vents, lights, speakers, sprinklers, smoke detectors and walls will be masked as necessary.
  • All flooring, equipment, furnishings, plants and/or merchandise will be covered with tarps and drop cloths.
  • Product will be applied with turbine sprayers that use low product pressure (15 to 30 PSI) and an air tip atomizing system. Over-spray is minimal. In some applications, product is applied with Titan 440 airless sprayers. Product will be applied to the entire ceiling including, if applicable, T-bars.
  • Areas that have been serviced are inspected and every effort is made to leave them as clean as we found them. Dusting and vacuuming will be provided as needed.
Flame spread classification and smoke density developed on USG Quietone Mineral Fiber 2' x 4' tiles: Tested untreated, new tiles then tested tiles resurfaced with both Product covered colors #0 "Super White: and #4 "Beige". New tiles had a low "Class A" fire and smoke rating.
AFTER RESURFACING THEY RETAINED THESE RATINGS.

Test Area:

Flame spread classification and smoke density developed on USG Auditone Mineral Fiber 2' x 2' tiles: Tested untreated, new tiles then tested tiles resurfaced with both Product covered colors #0 "Super White: and #4 "Beige". New tiles had a low "Class A" fire and smoke rating.
AFTER RESURFACING THEY RETAINED THESE RATINGS.
Flame spread classification and smoke density developed on select grade red oak flooring: Tested red oak flooring after resurfacing with product #0. Untreated red oak flooring had a flame spread rating of 95 and a smoke density rating of 100 - both Class C.
AFTER APPLICATION OF PRODUCT THESE IMPROVED TO RATINGS OF 60 AND 55 (CLASS B) RESPECTIVELY.

Government Opinions:

The California State Fire Marshall has issued registration certifying that our product is a qualified flame-retardant coating carrying a "CLASS A" fire rating. This is based on evaluation test data submitted by U.S. Testing Company.

We guarantee that the product will not breakdown or disintegrate due to manufacturing or application errors for a period of seven years. please be advised, however, that we cannot take responsibility for ceiling damage discoloration due to fluid leaks, nicotine, smog or problems created by the HVAC System.
For the period of this warranty (7 years) we will re-service any damaged areas for the original, contracted price per square foot  ("current" minimum service call).
